An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced accounts assistant to join our family-run garden located in the heart of Scunthorpe. The main purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of accounts up to management level.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Daily bank reconciliations
2. Sales invoicing, credit control, till debtors, and account reconciliations
3. Processing supplier invoices, matching up against orders & delivery notes
4. Purchase ledger and statement reconciliation
5. BACS payment runs
6. Time sheet collating and processing
7. Processing of payroll ready for accountant submission
8. Managing employee issues, e.g., sickness, holidays, SMP, SPP, living wage, P45’s, holiday pay, overtime, expenses, etc.
9. Administering auto-enrolment pension schemes
10. Submissions to HMRC
11. Assisting with account management information
12. Recording cash expenses
13. Processing of monthly takings journals
14. Compliance and entry in line with the HTA voucher scheme
15. Report directly to owners daily
16. VAT returns
17. Answering the telephone and dealing with customer/supplier queries
18. Any ad hoc duties that should arise

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
1. AAT qualification or equivalent
2. Minimum of 2 years experience within accounts
3. Experience of Xero account system
4. EPOS experience desirable
5. Confident and clear communicator
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
7. Able to work independently as well as part of a small team
8. Able to work under pressure with a drive to meet daily deadlines
9. Accuracy and attention to detail

Pay: £28,000.00 per year
