Our client is a leading UK Design Consultancy, delivering multi-disciplinary engineering solutions in the Built Environment. They have a diverse range of clients and a portfolio of projects covering industrial, pharmaceutical, residential, commercial, education, defence, probation, and domestic sectors. They work with a mixture of public and private clients across a broad range of sectors, and due to their quality of service, a large percentage of their work is repeat business based on years of partnerships, even with generations of the same family.
Due to continuing demand, they have a fantastic opportunity for a talented Associate Structural Engineer to join the business in their Stockton-on-Tees Office and play a key role in leading and managing projects from concept through to completion.
As an Associate Structural Engineer, you will:
1. Lead the structural engineering design process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
2. Oversee and review technical drawings, calculations, and specifications.
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated design solutions.
4. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and less experienced engineers.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
6. Contribute to business development activities and identify opportunities for growth.
As a Chartered Engineer, you will possess:
1. A minimum of 10 years post-chartered experience working within a UK engineering design consultancy, focusing on designing and delivering complex projects.
2. Demonstrable experience of structural design and assessment of concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures, using current U.K. Standards and Eurocodes.
3. Capability in using design spreadsheets, e.g., Excel and TEDDS, and knowledge of detailing packages, e.g., AutoCAD and Revit.
You should be capable of leading multiple small to large-sized projects without supervision and chairing concept and detailed design reviews as part of a staged design delivery process. Proficiency in the use of industry-standard software for structural analysis and design, e.g., Tekla Structural Designer (TSD) or similar, is required. You will be able to complete structural condition surveys and reports to a high standard and to tight deadlines and specify construction information, e.g., using NBS.
