This is a 10.5 PA post for a Clinical Consultant Oncologist, with a specialist interest in Urology tumours. The post is based at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust and with weekly attendance to our satellite site at Frimley Park Hospital.
Following a recent review of our outstanding Oncology service, we are pleased to be expanding our medical workforce numbers to meet the growing demand.
The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust hosts a leading regional Cancer Centre, and we are seeking a well-organized Clinical Consultant Oncologist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide expertise in the management and treatment of patients with Urology tumours. This includes offering Chemotherapy, systemic therapy, and Radiotherapy (including Stereotactic). This role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic team providing exceptional cancer care in a modern, state-of-the-art facility.
We are looking for candidates who are on the Specialist Register for Clinical Oncology (or within six months of CCT date for resident doctors), have expertise and experience in Urology tumours, have a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care and continuous professional development, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Main duties of the job
Remit of the Consultant Post:
1. Work with colleagues to provide a Urology oncology service.
2. Provide the oncology service for Urology patients in the Guildford catchment area and prostate patients in the Frimley Park Hospital area.
3. Offer Chemotherapy and systemic therapy expertise, as well as Radiotherapy (including Stereotactic), brachytherapy and molecular radiotherapy.
4. Participate in regular consultant ward cover sessions.
This remit requires a well-organized individual with good team-working skills and the ability to complete work within agreed timescales in cooperation with all staff groups and with support from senior colleagues.

Job responsibilities
The Royal Surrey Cancer Centre provides specialist Cancer and Haemato-Oncological care, including complex cancer surgery, to a catchment area of approximately 1.4 million people in South West Surrey and Hampshire. Non-surgical oncological treatment for these patients is provided at the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre, which is an integral part of the Trust. We have recently opened our newly refurbished Cancer Centre, and are delighted to offer a modern and welcoming environment for patients.

Qualifications
* Full registration and a license to practice with the GMC
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register Clinical Oncology via: oClinical Oncologist Only- CCT (CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview date) oPortfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR) oEuropean Community Rights
* MBBS or equivalent
* Higher medical qualification
Experience
* Recent experience of Oncology care in the relevant tumour groups at a senior level
* Relevant experience of management of Oncological emergencies
* Broad oncology experience in a variety of tumor sites
