An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Burnley Council’s Streetscene Service as an Environmental Health and Licensing Manager. You will work as a senior member of the team to deliver all environmental health and licensing regulatory functions to ensure all key objectives are met.
Burnley Borough Council is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Environmental Health and Licensing Manager to lead and develop its Environmental Health and Licensing Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of environmental health in Burnley, a thriving town known for its vibrant communities, beautiful landscapes, and a commitment to sustainability.
You will be committed to the delivery of a high standard of regulatory services that aim to improve the quality of life of residents in relation to, environmental protection, food safety, health and safety and licensing matters.
It is essential you have experience of working at a senior level formulating and implementing policy and procedures within Environmental Health and Licensing. You must also have experience of providing advice and guidance and delivering reports and briefings to a wide range of stakeholders as well as experience of delivering operational services in environmental health, licensing or related discipline within a local authority setting.
It is also essential you have effective interpersonal skills in order to create and sustain effective relationships with a range of operational and professional staff, including elected members, senior managers and external partners. Experience of team management and change management are essential, as you will lead on the insourcing programme of the Environmental Health and Licensing Teams back into the Council.

You'll work closely with the Head of Service and other managers within the Unit’s Senior Management Team to drive development across the borough, bringing a practical, supportive approach to environmental health and licensing services that supports our goals.
