CPL UK Healthcare (formally RIG Locums) are currently looking for an enthusiastic CAMHS ED Consultant in the adolescent eating disorder service, based in Winchester.
The post holder will be based at Winchester and will be responsible for providing clinical care, RC responsibility and treatment for up to 10 patients in a General Adolescent Unit with Eating Disorder beds (GAU) as well as providing clinical leadership to the team.
The consultant will have the support of other members of the medical team which comprises of another consultant, Specialty Doctor as well as a ST 4-6 and a CT2. Medical students from Southampton University Medical School also attend.
The hospital has a highly skilled workforce, and multidisciplinary team. In addition to nursing and medical staff, the team comprises psychologists, a family therapist, occupational therapists and teachers. Safeguarding and Mental Health Act work is supported by a full-time social worker. Young patients are offered individual psychology including CBT and CRT as well as group work on emotional regulation, assertiveness, anxiety management etc. and family therapy. In the occupational therapy department, there are resources for community skills work, assessments, support for eating disorders and gym activities. The hospital has its own school on site, where the Hospital Educational Team provided by Hampshire County Council offer continuity of education for the young people. The Multidisciplinary team are supported by a senior manager, secretarial, administrative, catering and facilities staff.
The hospital has a well-equipped clinic room for physical health monitoring; a phlebotomist attends on a weekly basis. There is a well-stocked dispensary and high standards of prescribing and dispensing practice are supported by regular visits from the Trust pharmacist.
