This is a wonderful opportunity to join our primary Care Team and develop this new role, within our supportive friendly General Practice. We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking team player with a proven track record in an existing pharmacy technician role. The ability to work alone, as well as part of a team, and the motivation to create ideas for improvement in medicines management. Main duties of the job Able to process the prescription workflow through the practice; from receipt of requests to issue. Lead improvements to maximise safe and cost effective prescribing .Help patients to get the best from their medicines by switching medications to agreed protocols, improving repeat prescribing processes, promotion of repeat dispensing, online ordering, minimising clinical risk and reducing wasted medicines. Encouraging the development of better understanding of the principles of medicines optimisation throughout the practice teams.To provide complete safe prescriptions service following the repeat prescribing protocol.To monitor efficiency of the service and suggest improvements if appropriate. Providing the first point of contact for patients either on the telephone or face to face and provide administrative support.
