Electrical Estimator vacancy in Merthyr Tydfil (203jc)
Electrical Estimator (203jc) – Merthyr Tydfil – up to £45k based on experience.
My client, an up-and-coming electrical and civil engineering company established in 2012, is seeking to recruit an Electrical Estimator to strengthen their team. They offer competitive and reliable services within the electrical and civil engineering industry, including cabling, containment, substation builds, trenching, cable installation, jointing, earthing, and testing and commissioning services to the commercial industry UK wide.
As a skilled Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with electrical installations, ensuring that bids are competitive while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations. You will also ensure that the bids process runs smoothly and meets deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, monitor ongoing projects to ensure they are executed effectively, and provide support to teams as needed.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Project Analysis: Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand the scope and requirements.
2. Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and other project expenses.
3. Vendor and Subcontract Relations: Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing.
4. Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
5. Documentation: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely project estimates.
To be eligible for this role, you will need the following:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical estimating for commercial and/or industrial projects.
3. Technical Skills: Proficient in using electrical estimating software and familiarity with industry standard codes.
4. IT Skills: Proficient in using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
5. Communication: Strong written communication skills with the ability to present and explain estimates to internal teams and clients.
6. Detail Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs.
The ideal candidate would be someone who has left the forces and has several years of commercial experience, seeking to join a company that is continuing to grow and develop into a major player in this field.
