Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Bristol - to £65,000 + Package (Bonus c10% of salary, Medical & Pension etc).
In life, there is generally an easier way and a harder way in most things.
Had enough of battling with contractors, working to unachievable deadlines, and dealing with projects that have been costed so tightly that there is no time for unforeseen changes? Are you generally fed up with the pressure and workload within traditional building services design consultancy?
Rather than dealing with these daily challenges, consider working within a Commercial Property Consultancy that manages large estates and portfolios of buildings on behalf of some of the world’s leading businesses. Managing these buildings offers the opportunity to engage and work on all of the M&E Design projects that occur during the building’s lifetime.
Commercial Property Consultancies have their own in-house client base and have developed fully functioning, in-house M&E Consultancies which feed off of the M&E projects across all of their client’s buildings and portfolios.
As they manage all aspects of a client’s property portfolio—from buying and selling to leasing and anything technical, including building surveying, PM, sustainability/NZC, and M&E including full detailed design (stages 0-4)—they do not have to competitively tender for projects. This results in projects being costed correctly, creating profit rather than loss, leading to a less pressurized environment, with acceptable working hours and the ability to recruit more engineers when required, pay well, and reward significantly with annual bonuses.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll be part of a team working on projects from concept through to stage 4 detailed design.
This is a completely unique career opportunity—a client-side role that will give you direct access to clients, working on the client’s behalf as part of the client team, acting as the client’s representative on projects.
You’ll be responsible for managing projects with support from the wider M&E team and will have the opportunity to develop both your design skills and your commercial client-facing and project management skills—an opportunity not typically available within traditional design consultancy, which will accelerate your career past your peer group.
There is structured training and a clear route to progression, along with excellent CPD opportunities within the team.
Although this Commercial Property Consultancy employs over 50,000 staff, they still put people before profit.
In addition to a salary up to £65,000, they offer one of the best employee benefits packages in the industry consisting of:
* Flexible working hours and a 35-hour week as standard
* Annual bonus, up to 15% of your basic salary
* 7.5% pension
* 27 days leave (plus Bank Holidays)
* Life assurance
* Private medical
* Option of buying or selling 5 days leave
* Interest-free season ticket loan or cycle to work scheme
* Junior Board representative - get to speak to the Executive board where your voice can be heard
