Reception Teaching Assistant (TA) Required for a Primary School in Pontefract
Trust Education are looking for Reception TAs to support young learners in their early education development. We are working with a welcoming primary school in the Pontefract. This role is set to start as soon as possible on a full-time temporary basis, with potential for a longer-term position for the right candidate.
About the Role:
As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the classroom teacher and ensuring that young children receive the best possible start to their education. Working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), you will help to create an engaging, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can develop key skills in a safe and supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and interactive EYFS lessons and use your initiative throughout daily routines to bring to life new ideas and concepts.
* Assist in planning and implementing learning activities that promote children's development in line with the EYFS framework.
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for children who may need extra guidance during lessons.
* Encourage children’s social and emotional, development through structured learning through play and hands-on learning experiences.
* Adopt a positive and inclusive learning environment where all children feel valued and encouraged.
* Help with classroom organisation, including preparing learning materials and setting up activities.
* Support children with their personal care needs, including hygiene and mealtime assistance when necessary.
* Monitor children's progress and behaviour, reporting any concerns to the class teacher or SENCO where required.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Education (candidates with strong relevant experience or other qualifications will also be considered).
* Have a solid understanding of the EYFS framework.
* Be patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
* Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building strong relationships with both children and staff.
* Have a proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning and managing different needs in the classroom.
* Experience working with children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) is desirable but not essential.
* Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check registered with the update service.
