Are you passionate about leading transformative training that creates lasting impact? bemix is looking for an experienced and motivated Head of Training to lead our team in delivering The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism across Kent and Medway. This is an integral role within a diverse and thriving organisation, which is the leading partner for the delivery of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training and Leadership Development of Autistic and Learning Disabled Experts by Experience for Kent and Medway. The Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) has commissioned a new partnership comprising Aucademy, bemix, Canterbury Christchurch University, and the Kent Autistic Trust to implement the training in Kent and Medway. The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is named after Oliver McGowan, whose death shone a light on the need for health and social care staff to have better training. The Health and Care Act 2022 introduced a statutory requirement that regulated service providers must ensure their staff receive training on understanding Autistic experience and learning disability that is appropriate to their role. Main aim: Lead and line-manage the training team delivering The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism. Hours: 37 per week with scope to work flexibly to meet the needs of the post, including occasional evening and overnight stays away from home. Location: Maidstone, with some travel to Canterbury and other locations across Kent and Medway. There will be some scope for home working, but we are seeking a people-person who thrives on face-to-face connection with their team working across the two local authority areas. Duration: Permanent Contract. A relevant teaching qualification such as Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS), Multi-professional support of learning and assessment in practice or an equivalent. We will consider and value equivalent experience. Exceptional organizational and project management skills, ensuring training is delivered on time and to a high standard. A commitment to co-production, working alongside colleagues with learning disabilities and/or Autism as equals. Strong IT skills, including experience with Learning Management Systems and Google Workspace.
