We need you to provide financial leadership as part of planned growth and development to ensure we maximise our impact for good. As our Head of Finance, you will be responsible for maintaining an effective system of financial management. This will include financial accounting, management reporting, business planning, budgeting, treasury management, VAT accounting, and financial risk management. We will look to you to provide strategic and operational financial planning and ensure effective reporting for stakeholders. You will make sure business plans and development programmes are effectively resourced and funded too. Important will be the ability to lead and develop your team to deliver against KPIs and targets while providing high standards of customer care. You will also keep abreast of the external environment, monitoring trends and developments while keeping stakeholders informed. For this senior leadership role, you must be a qualified accountant with post qualification experience in a similar role. Comfortable operating at a strategic and operational level, including within the charity sector, you will have experience of costing funding proposals and knowledge of VAT and tax from a charity perspective. You will have in-depth knowledge of applicable financial reporting standards, including the Charities SORP, and the preparation of statutory accounts. Effective at developing financial policies and procedures, you will be used to improving finance systems and possess significant experience in the use of IT in financial management. You will also have knowledge of the Charity Commission and Companies House requirements and guidance. Your technical abilities will be complemented by strong interpersonal and communication skills. A leader by example, you will be used to building high performing teams and comfortable working in a collaborative and matrix environment.
