Position Summary:
The Senior Commercial Finance Manager is accountable for driving financial performance across the division, whilst supporting the wider group. This position supports several stakeholders throughout the business, building key relationships with their teams and providing strong analysis and recommendations on business results and future growth/performance.

In this role you will take accountability for developing excellent working relationships across internal divisional stakeholders. Working closely with the Head of Commercial Finance, the Senior Commercial Finance Manager will have responsibility for identifying emerging risks and opportunities, providing robust and appropriate financial advice on commercial activities, and making suitable recommendations to drive value.
Responsible for managing the divisional Finance Assistant in the production of monthly management accounts, ensuring costs are allocated at activity level, allowing commercial and operational leadership teams to fully understand profitability. Support the Finance Assistant in the provision of informative management information and results commentary.
Set the timetable for divisional annual Budget and Forecast, in-line with group timetable as set out by Head of Commercial Finance. Work with Budget Holders to deliver annual Budget and ongoing Forecasts.
Our Ideal Person:
* Must hold a recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent.
* A strong academic background demonstrating a blend of accounting and commercial skills.
* Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
* Prior experience in a commercial finance or business partnering role, engaging with multiple key stakeholders within a commercial business.
* Strong ability to understand and analyse complex financial data, driving strategic decision-making.
* Excellent skills in conveying financial insights effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
* Inquisitive and analytical, consistently asking the right questions to delve deeper into financial data.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the capacity to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment.
In this role, you will:
* Responsible for direct line management of divisional Finance Assistant ensuring all key accountabilities as stated in their job description are met to required standards.
* Support Finance Assistant in the preparation of management accounts including reconciliation, posting journals and reporting in accordance with the group timelines, to be presented to the budget holder and Head of Commercial Finance for approval ahead of consolidation into the Group Board pack.
* Production of Budgets and Forecasts for areas supported, challenging as appropriate and ensuring support is maintained on an ongoing basis.
* Undertake in-depth analysis of performance as required to ensure groups financial performance is optimised.
* Provide divisional Directors and Senior Managers with commercial support to enhance profitability, supporting new and existing customer contract negotiations and driving cost reduction initiatives.
* Attendance of divisional Profit & Loss review meetings with Budget Holders to present in-depth analysis and ensure results are understood.
* Ensure accounting principles as outlined within the statutory account are applied appropriately, advising areas supported as required.
* Support the continual development of the IT systems.
