Tate are proud to be working with a public body that looks after England's historic environment to support their search for a qualified Accountant on a temporary basis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate the tax affairs and financial reporting requirements of the organisation
* Seek and provide tax (specifically VAT) advice
* Manage, prepare and submit the quarterly VAT returns of the organisation and their shared service customers in a timely and efficient manner. This includes Capital Goods Scheme, membership annual adjustment, partial exemption annual review and opt to Tax
* Undertake monthly and quarterly VAT related checks
* Undertake taxation reviews on projects and other significant business areas, providing knowledge and support to the organisation as a whole
* Undertake policy reviews in relation to taxation matters, ensuring knowledge is up to date and relevant, updating management in a timely manner
* Advise on non-Payroll taxation issues (including VAT and Corporation Tax) affecting the organisation and customers
* Respond to tax queries promptly, escalating to approved third parties as required
* Manage reconciliations relating to taxation and be responsible for communicating and resolving queries
* Review purchase and sales transactions and ensure correct VAT treatment
Qualifications / experience:
* Qualified CCAB accountant
* Relevant accounting and taxation experience
* Reconciliation experience, including identification and rectification of errors
