Workshop Controller - Communities - Fleet

Bridgend County Borough Council works in collaboration with South Wales Police to maintain a combined Fleet of up to 1100 vehicles across the County of Bridgend and beyond. Do you have the passion to be part of our dynamic team and support our Colleagues serving our communities?
We are looking for a Workshop Controller. This role is a collaborative role with BCBC and SWP. You would have technician knowledge with a minimum of NVQ Level 3 to join our team based in our busy workshop located in the Bridgend area.
You will need a good understanding of a workshop environment and familiarity with workshop tools and equipment. Continual training will be offered to the successful candidate(s) to support our Zero Carbon vision for 2027. Your role would support, however not be limited to:
1. Co-ordinate and manage a multidiscipline team of workshop and mobile technicians, including supervisors and third-party suppliers for both Bridgend County Borough Council and South Wales Police.
2. Plan, organise and control the delivery of the Joint Workshop operational service to achieve the established standards.
3. Plan work schedules for own staff.
4. Work with customers to identify and resolve any problems or queries regarding the provision of the service.

Our working hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday - Friday. No weekend working unless paid as overtime when demands prevail.
