Based in Godalming, Surrey, with projects across Surrey and Sussex, they are known for delivering luxury homes and premium residential refurbishments to the highest standards. Due to their continued success and growth, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their team and contribute to the continued delivery of exceptional projects. Role Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, you will be responsible for managing the cost and financial aspects of high-end residential refurbishment projects. This includes preparing detailed cost estimates, managing budgets, and ensuring that projects are delivered within the agreed financial parameters. You will work closely with the project team, contractors, and clients to ensure that all aspects of the project meet both quality and budget expectations. Key Responsibilities: Estimating: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for high-end residential refurbishment projects, including materials, labour, subcontractors, and overheads. Work with the design and project teams to ensure that all project requirements are captured and accurately costed from the outset. Solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Quantity Surveying: Oversee and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate tracking of all costs from pre-construction through to completion. Monitor project progress and prepare regular cost reports and valuations. Manage variations, change orders, and cost adjustments in a timely manner. Conduct site visits to review works and monitor costs, ensuring compliance with budget and quality standards. Negotiate contracts and resolve any disputes with contractors and suppliers. Client and Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to keep them updated on cost and project progress. Provide clear, concise cost reports and assist clients with making informed decisions. Assist with client meetings, presenting cost estimates and project updates as needed. Project Management Support: Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including scope of works and specifications. Provide support to the project management team with financial forecasting and cash flow management. Identify and mitigate financial risks throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure that all project documentation is accurate, compliant, and up to date. Key Requirements: Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator in the residential refurbishment sector, preferably with high-end or luxury projects. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and relevant regulations for residential projects. Experience with cost estimating, contract management, and procurement processes. Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure accuracy and attention to detail. Proficient in using industry-standard software (e.g., CostX, Procore, Excel). A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (MRICS status is desirable but not essential). Strong communication, negotiation, and client management skills. A proactive, problem-solving attitude, with the ability to manage costs and deliver projects to the highest standards. Why Join Us?
