Purpose of the role:
To provide highly individualised flexible support to people with disabilities or health needs living in their own homes. To respect the lifestyle and choices of clients to ensure they lead fulfilling lives.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Assist with daily living activities specified within the client Care plan.
2. Support clients to take part in social or community events as required.
3. Monitor the well-being of clients.
4. These may include but may not be limited to:
1. Personal Care; i.e. assistance with washing, bathing and toileting.
2. Domestic duties; i.e. assisting with shopping, housework and laundry.
3. Food Preparation; i.e. preparing and cooking meals and cleaning before and after. Ensure food is stored safely following guidelines.
4. Companionship; i.e. social stimulation within clients' own homes or accompanying them on visits (i.e. health appointments, social visits, short trips or holidays).
5. Monitoring Client Health and Wellbeing – Ensuring all care notes are completed accurately. Informing the office or on-call service of concerns, incidents and changes in client health needs.
6. Medication support – in line with client care and risk plans.
7. Working in partnership with other care providers and health professionals and family members.
8. Attending 3 monthly supervisions and staff meetings and annual appraisal. Attend meetings as and when required by the manager in order to support clients, the company, colleagues or own development.
Working Conditions:
The hours of work are varied and flexible dependent upon the work which is available. Shifts include short domiciliary visits which start from 1 hour to 12 hours.
Qualifications/Experience:
1. Experience is preferable but not always necessary, as full training will be provided including ongoing career development training.
2. Applicants must be able to provide a minimum of three references, at least one of which must be professional.
3. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the right to live and work in the UK.
4. All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS.
