Role Summary:
The Technical Quality Manager will be managing the day-to-day activities of the company Quality/Technical department and coordinating the site Quality Assistant & Hygiene Team. Assist with strategic developments of the company and act as a technical representative at various visits and technical audits.
Key Responsibilities:
* Updating Customer Specifications on various portals including TQC, MCreate, JS Evolve, ensuring all details reflect practices.
* NPD – Liaise with Specification Technologist on first production runs and customer QAS’s when required.
* Chair the HACCP team, ensuring that the site’s HACCP plan is up to date and all actions which may occur because of a process change are addressed fully and on time.
* Maintain Internal Audit plan, undertake internal Audit and coordination of internal audit non-conformance corrective actions. This includes but is not limited to: Monthly Glass & Hard Plastic, GMP, customer standard audits, BRC standard audits.
* Control of and ensuring that all customer complaints are recorded, investigated, and addressed. Responding to a customer with a corrective action.
* Recording, monitoring, and communicating company’s CPMU to all relevant staff.
* Maintain & Update the Site Quality Management Manual – including Policy & procedure.
* Liaise with our customers’ technical departments & Support sales team communications.
* Support Compliance Manager with implementation of relevant laws and regulations.
* Liaise with Procurement to maintain a list of Approved Suppliers for Raw Materials & Packaging ensuring approved specifications are available.
* Part of the third-party audits and customer audit team.
* Promote a positive food safety and quality culture within the business.
* Collate and present a monthly report on customer complaints/non-conformance data. Factory GMP results & actions, outstanding corrective actions from audit.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Educated to degree level in a food related area or equivalent industry experience.
* Internal Auditor.
* Experience in retailer specifications portals and policies.
* Food Safety & HACCP Level 3.
Skills and Abilities:
* Proven experience as Quality/Technical Manager.
* In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations.
* Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
* Great at building relationships cross-functionally, with excellent communication skills.
* Diligent with a strong attention to detail.
* Proficient IT skills.
* An analytical mind to deal with the complexities of procedures and regulations.
Work Environment and Location:
Working in both an office and factory environment depending on the task at hand. Ability to be flexible in your approach and work both inside and out as required. The factory is located in a remote area with no public transport or safe walking paths, so own/reliable transport is essential.
Package:
* Position – Part of the Senior Management Team.
* Shift – Monday-Friday, 0800-1600hrs.
* Salary - £35,000 to £38,000 per year, dependant on experience and qualifications.
