About Us
The National Institute of Teaching researches and delivers teacher development programmes. We were founded by four of England’s largest Multi Academy Trusts – The Harris Federation, Oasis Community Learning, Outwood Grange Academies Trust, and Star Academies.
We were awarded £2.4m by the Nuffield Foundation to deliver a ground-breaking research programme – Teaching Improvement through Data and Evaluation (TIDE) in collaboration with UCL, Evidence Based Education, and Teacher Tapp.
TIDE will develop a novel measure of teacher impact using data from our founding MATs; explore the statistical contributors to our measure; and then co-create and evaluate interventions that can increase teacher impact. We think this programme will revolutionise research on teacher development.
