Charlise Ltd are seeking to appoint a Transport Manager, with a fleet of 6-10 Vehicles. The key responsibilities will be to ensure the transport department operates in a safe, compliant and efficient manner, which is fully compliant with all legislation. Managing the Fleet Servicing, MOT and Vehicle Breakdowns and vehicle records in compliance with the O License Conditions. Tasking drivers and assets to meet delivery schedules and delivering a first-class service to our customer.
Key responsibilities:
* To manage, audit and review compliance systems to ensure that they are effective
* To review any shortcomings such as prohibitions and or annual test failures
* To ensure that relevant changes are notified in accordance with operator licence requirements
* To keep up to date on relevant changes in standards and legislation
* To ensure that drivers hold the appropriate licence for the vehicle they are driving and a valid driver CPC Qualification (DQC)
* To ensure that all records are kept for at least the minimum required periods
* To ensure compliance with the driving hours rules
* To ensure that vehicles are kept in a fit and roadworthy condition
* To ensure safety inspections and other statutory testing are carried out within the notified O-licence maintenance intervals
* To ensure inspection of transport vehicles, ensuring their safety and checking to see if they need maintenance work.
* Organise and maintain the efficiency of the entire transport service.
* Communicate with vehicle drivers, ensuring that they are kept up to date with customer requirements.
* Organise and schedule transport routing.
* Review and implement Driver training plans for the year in accordance with both business targets and CPC requirements.
Your skills and experience:
* Full UK PSV Drivers License (Essential).
* PSV CPC National holder (Essential).
* Proven Transport knowledge and experience.
* Excellent working knowledge of Transport legislation.
* Proven record in Fleet Compliance in maintenance, MOTs Servicing and breakdowns
* Flexible leadership style with ability to motivate staff to achieve results.
* Competent Numerate with good attention to detail.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Competent Microsoft Office user including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Conduct risk assessments of transport systems.
* Organise training and development days for transport staff.
* Work out a strategy that factors in customer satisfaction and ease-of-use.
