Job summary The Newcastle North and East Mental Health Team have an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Clinical Support Assistant. This is a rare opportunity to work within one of CNTWs most unique services. This role will involve supporting a caseload of clients in the community who have various mental health problems including psychosis, depression and anxiety, as well as complex emotional needs. The role involves supporting the clinical members of the team to deliver evidence based treatment and to engage in collaborative working across the multi-agency team. You will work closely alongside other clinicians. Working with a highly complex population, the team feel that this role would be ideal for someone with the following qualities and aspirations: Do you want to work with individuals who can be difficult to engage and are often socially excluded? Main duties of the job To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, cognitive and/or learning disabilities under the direction of a registered practitioner. The overall responsibility for the service user remains, at all times with the registered practitioner. To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and that this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence. To support the team in providing excellent and effective person centred care. To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity. To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in Trust policy. To provide support with depot clinic and clozapine clinic as well as training in physical health monitoring.
