Job Overview: As a Welsh Teaching Assistant, you will support our classroom teachers by providing assistance to students in both Welsh and English across various subjects. You will be an integral part of creating a positive learning environment where Welsh language skills are enhanced. Your role will include supporting students with their language development, helping to make learning engaging and accessible, and ensuring that the use of Welsh is promoted throughout the school. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the delivery of Welsh-language lessons, supporting students with both written and spoken Welsh. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra help with their Welsh language skills. Help create a positive and immersive Welsh-speaking environment within the classroom and school. Support students with their Welsh-language assignments, projects, and homework. Collaborate with teachers to develop learning materials and activities in Welsh. Assist in the assessment of students’ language progress and provide constructive feedback. Encourage the use of Welsh in day-to-day activities and foster an appreciation for the language and culture. Assist in organizing and participating in Welsh-language events, trips, and activities. Requirements: Proficiency in Welsh (spoken and written) to a fluent level (essential). Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting (preferred). Strong communication skills and the ability to support diverse learners. A passion for promoting the Welsh language and culture. Ability to work well within a team and be adaptable to different learning needs. Experience working with children who have additional learning needs is a bonus.
