12 Month NHS Fixed Term Locum Consultant Clinical Oncology Vacancy – Bedfordshire
I've been appointed by an NHS Trust in Bedfordshire to help them recruit a Consultant Clinical Oncologist, initially on a 12 month NHS Fixed Term Contract.
This is a 10PA Locum Consultant Clinical Oncologist post with the contract based at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Bedford Hospital site). The primary aim of this post is to deliver an oncology practice in Colorectal Cancers and Gynaecological Cancers at Bedford Hospital. Radiotherapy planning and on-treat review clinics will take place at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Addenbrooke's Hospital).
1. To provide specialist Oncological services to the population served by the Bedford Hospital in conjunction with current Prof and Consultant Team with special reference to Colorectal Cancer and Gynaecological Cancer.
2. To provide specialist Oncological services to the Cambridge population.
3. To work with consultant colleagues and primary care services to develop rapid routes of referral for cancer patients.
4. To liaise with clinical colleagues in Medicine, Surgery, Haematology and palliative care to assist in providing a seamless service for patients transferring between the different aspects of the service.
5. To liaise with Colleagues in Medicine Surgery and the surgical specialties to provide regular cover for patients with neutropenic sepsis and other oncological complications.
6. To collaborate with colleagues at the Cancer Centre, Cancer Units and other agencies to ensure optimum quality of care for cancer patients.
7. To work with colleagues and the radiotherapy and chemotherapy standards-setting group in consultation with the directorate management structure to manage developments in oncology and the introduction of new drugs and technologies at Addenbrooke's and the network.
8. To participate in the undergraduate teaching program.
