The Role:
Management and leadership of engineers/contractors who maintain and service the company's plant equipment and utilities systems in accordance with Company Policies, Risk Assessments and Work Permits at all times, ensuring Safety is always observed. Developing high standards of maintenance of the utility systems through continuous improvement of maintenance methods and coordination with service contractors.
What will you be doing?
1. Develop, implement and maintain the sites Preventive Maintenance Programme including reliability improvement activities to drive downtime. Develop the Maintenance Planner for the year for the plant equipment and utilities systems and then ensure that all these actions are cascaded down into the Engineering team's/contractors.
2. Implement a robust audit system for voids and roof areas together with Maintenance manager, ensuring these areas inspected and well maintained.
3. Be the site lead in the CMMS System ensuring the necessary personnel are correctly trained and ensure there are plans in place to deliver the required targets and lead the site on the route to best maintenance practices, SOPs are in place for all tasks.
4. Critical spares are identified and available.
5. Correct stock holding of parts, and correctly identified in the CMMS System.
6. Stock takes are carried out at the correct frequency and are accurate, stock adjustments issues are escalated.
7. Supports the Engineering Manager with the management of the Engineering Budget to ensure no overspends on Labour, Outside Services and Raw Materials and Supplies.
What will you bring to the party?
1. As a minimum a time served Engineer or qualification in a relevant Mechanical/Electrical discipline.
2. Good knowledge of refrigeration, compressor, gas, ventilation equipment operation.
3. Awareness of modern maintenance techniques, RCM, condition monitoring etc.
4. Good influencing, presentation, communication and decision-making skills.
5. Leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
6. A good communicator who can work at all levels of the organisation.
7. Able to challenge current practice to drive improvement and performance.
