The Role
Looking for an experienced Design Manager to act as the vital link between the design and construction teams. You will be responsible for managing the design process, ensuring designers remain on track, and that they have the necessary information to support project delivery.
This is a great opportunity for a civil engineer or site engineer looking to transition into a design management role, contributing to complex infrastructure projects across Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the main point of contact between design teams, project teams, and site operations.
* Oversee and manage the design process, ensuring it aligns with project timelines and objectives.
* Ensure all designers have the necessary information to produce accurate and constructible designs.
* Coordinate with engineers, clients, and subcontractors to resolve design issues.
* Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.
* Identify risks in the design process and propose practical solutions.
* Support construction teams by providing clear design information and resolving technical queries.
About You
* Background in civil engineering or site engineering, ideally with experience in design coordination.
* Strong understanding of infrastructure projects in roads, bridges, marine, or energy sectors.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to liaise between technical and construction teams.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
* Knowledge of relevant design standards and regulations.
