Job summary
TheImmunisation Nurse works as a member of the Immunisation Team, delivering nasaland intramuscular flu and other vaccine programmes within community andeducational settings in accordance with Department of Health Green Book againstImmunisation and Local Services Specifications.
The role will involve working closely with theadministration team and school staff.
Main duties of the job
ClinicalPractice
Provide safe delivery of a quality immunisations service.
To identify, prioritise and implement programmesof care that meet the needs of the patients.
To take intoaccount risk and its effective management consent, side effects.
Take responsibilityfor CPD and keep up to date with current practices and research-led developments.
To identify and report all new problems andconcerns to the Locality Lead Nurse;
Work towards PGDs and PSDs.

Clinical Practice

Team Working
· Act as lead clinician on immunisation sessions.
· Work with administration team and school staff at immunisation sessions.
Management of risk
9. Ensure safe storage, rotation and disposal of vaccines and drugs.
10. Ensure use of appropriate transporting and storage of items, following the cold chain procedures.
11. Practise infection-control measures according to local and national guidelines.
Managing information
12. Work in accordance with GDPR policy.
13. Ensure all patient records are clear and recorded accurately and stored as per procedures.
14. Understand the responsibility of self and others regarding the Freedom of Information Act.

· Undertake all mandatory and statutory training requirements.
