Are you a technically skilled professional with a passion for leadership, problem-solving, and delivering exceptional service? We are looking for a Coms Supervisor/Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving the success of our Coms Department and projects.
About the Role
In this position, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with leadership and client-facing responsibilities. You will oversee the commissioning, diagnostics, and repair of Windows and Linux PCs, networking equipment, and proprietary LED signage hardware (e.g., Novastar, Absen, Daks etc). Additionally, you'll manage projects and lead a small team of engineers to deliver high-quality service to our clients across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Expertise
* Build, diagnose, and commission Windows and Linux PCs, networking devices (e.g., routers), and LED signage hardware.
* Perform component-level diagnostics and repairs (advantageous).
* Provide remote support to technicians across the UK.
* Utilise tools for diagnostics and project tracking (e.g., command-line tools, SSH, Asana, Jira).
Project Management
* Oversee multiple client requests simultaneously, from setup to commissioning, including new hardware installations, screen configurations, and network deployments.
* Collaborate with clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet their expectations.
* Ensure the smooth rollout of projects, such as commissioning and installing 50+ routers for a key client across the UK.
Leadership
* Supervise and support a team of two COMS engineers.
* Provide training, guidance, and performance reviews to develop your team.
Client Interaction
* Address client queries with a commitment to exceptional service delivery.
What We’re Looking For
Technical Skills
* Proven experience with Linux and Windows systems, networking hardware, and LED signage technologies like Novastar (Advantageous).
* Networking knowledge, including router configuration and troubleshooting.
* Experience with Asana, Jira, or similar tools is an advantage.

Experience & Education

* No formal degree required, but practical experience is essential.
