Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a primary school specializing in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The ideal candidate will have a background in sports, bringing a dynamic and engaging approach to supporting our students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Student Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
* Physical Education Assistance: Support the delivery of physical education lessons, adapting activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
* Behavior Management: Implement strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills development among students.
* Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
* Monitoring Progress: Assist in tracking and recording students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
Qualifications:
* Experience working with children, preferably in a SEND educational setting.
* Background in sports, physical education, or related fields.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students' development.
