Oaklands Global has been exclusively retained by our UK-based MRO client to recruit a Head of Technical Services to join their growing team. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in the company’s expansion and continued success.
Head of the Technical Services department manages all departmental activity, defines and leads strategic projects, sets the direction for the department and implements accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
* Manages all activity in the Technical Service Department.
* Identifies areas of inefficiency in planning, maintenance and supply chain, and will establish, coordinate & lead improvement projects.
* Using continuous improvement methodology will continue to evolve and refine in-maintenance planning processes and critical path management.
* Must be able to demonstrate commercial benefit of defined projects and prioritise based on value to the business.
* Responsible for managing and evolving the technical relationships between the company and OEMs.
* Defines and implements the team required to support the growing maintenance team and future sites/facilities.
* Manages the continued development of the company ERP system.
* Must be presented in business attire and in line with company and customer expectations.
* Must respect company EH & S discipline and expectation.
* Delivers strategic projects as defined by the General Manager.
* Carry out continuous improvement investigations and root cause analysis investigations as requested to reduce quality escapes and COPQ.
* Attends meetings as required.
* Carries out any reasonable request by the Head of Technical Service or higher management in the reporting hierarchy.

* Must be methodical and ordered in approach to tasks
* Must be able to understand our customer expectations
* Must have working knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance tracking and planning
* Ability to provide strong drive and motivation
* A natural planner with a clear focus on safety and high quality
* Solid problem-solving ability and organisational skills
* Flexible and able to manage varying demands and workloads
* Thorough understanding of Part-M & Part-145 (and Company MOE) requirements
* Advanced understanding of continuous improvement philosophies
* Understanding of EH&S practices and policies
* Knowledge of leadership techniques and human performance
* Knowledge of human factors, human performance and limitations
* Knowledge of logistic processes
* Knowledge of organisational capabilities, privileges and limitations
* Knowledge of Part-M, Part-145 & any other relevant regulations
* Knowledge of relevant parts of the maintenance organisation exposition and procedures
* Knowledge of occurrence reporting systems (mandatory & internal) and understanding of the importance of reporting occurrences, incorrect maintenance data and existing or potential defects
* Knowledge of safety risks linked to the working environment
* Knowledge of Safety Management Systems and Just Culture
* Understanding of professional integrity, behaviour and attitude towards safety
* Previous experience of working within a Part M/Part 145 organisation
* Previous experience of communicating with customers and HNWIs.
* Computer literate
* Read & write in fluent English
* Have the right to work in the UK without restriction
* Knowledge of multiple major OEMs an advantage.
* Full UK driving license
