The Placement Year:
You will spend 12 months working on our LCST contract, part of our Defence & Government Services business. You will start your placement by spending a month getting to know all about our business. We have a broad reach and work with a number of different clients and stakeholders, so it's important to gain an understanding of what we do.
You will then spend your placement within either the Textiles, PPE, Footwear, or non-textile (metal & leathers) departments.
You will gain practical real-world experience while deploying the skills you have gained at university and learning more by working on specific projects with our range of professional colleagues. You will receive guidance and mentoring and will work across departments to broaden your commodity knowledge and elevate your future career opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Working within a team to deliver customer requirements for your items.
2. Ensuring all items within your range adhere to specifications and are compliant with customer requirements and relevant legislation.
3. Providing customer-facing and industry-facing support and guidance regarding your items in your area.
4. Managing all items within your area through life, maintaining critical path information, including Acquisition Safety Management and Product Quality Control.
5. Processing the technical data relating to your items within your range, including patterns, samples, manufacturing, test reports, and product certification.
6. Ensuring all reported defective items within your area are seen through to resolution.
About You:
The suitable candidate will currently be studying for any related degree with a keen interest in Commodity MOD clothing items for a future career.

Security Clearance Requirement:
Candidates must be eligible to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance. This process includes verification of identity, right to work in the UK, employment history, and a basic criminal records check for unspent convictions. Please note that candidates must have resided in the UK for 3 years to meet BPSS eligibility requirements.
