We are looking for one Clinical Research Fellow (CRF) who is aspiring to pursue a career in gynaecological oncology. The post of Clinical Research Fellow in Gynaecological Oncology is advertised for a fixed term period of 12 months in the first instance, which may be extended to a longer period subject to satisfactory progress and research commitment. The post is split 50:50 between research and clinical commitments. The beauty of this CRF post is that, whilst gaining research credentials, CRFs have ample opportunity to gain experience in the clinical and surgical care of patients with gynaecological cancer.
Clinical duties will be based within the NGOC at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead, a busy dedicated gynaecological oncology tertiary centre with 14 operating lists per week. The successful candidate will take part in a full shift rota, with 6 other trainees, and this is to manage gynae-oncology patients only. There is no obstetric or general gynaecology on call. This is a non-resident on call 1:7 on a 2-tier rota.
When first on call, you will be supported by a Subspecialty Fellow in the first period and a consultant off-site. This post is EWTD compliant. Full details are in the attached job description.
