Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in North London is looking to recruit a Housing Access Officer to provide support throughout a busy period.
This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.
We are seeking a skilled Housing Access Officer to play a key role in negotiating and procuring Nightly Paid accommodation to prevent homelessness and fulfill the Council's statutory housing duties. The successful candidate will work closely with landlords, housing providers, and internal teams to secure cost-effective housing solutions, minimize void turnaround times, and maximize rental income for the Council.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:
* Identify and secure Nightly Paid accommodation, negotiating the best financial deals while ensuring suitability for eligible clients.
* Work proactively to prevent homelessness by engaging with landlords and letting agents to provide sustainable housing options.
* Ensure properties are allocated quickly, agreements are signed with tenants, and void turnaround times are minimized.
* Oversee the creation of tenancy agreements, setting up rent accounts and ensuring the Council maximizes rental income from allocated properties.
* Develop strong relationships with private landlords, housing associations, and temporary accommodation providers to increase housing supply.
* Ensure all procured properties meet statutory housing standards and health & safety regulations. Maintain accurate records using housing management systems.
