Robert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting a new role of Credit Control Manager to join a growing distribution business based in the greater Leeds area. The business is going from strength to strength and is now looking to make a significant change to processes and outcomes within its credit function.
Reporting into the Financial Controller, key duties of the Credit Control Manager will include:
1. Ability to make key decisions
2. Review and analyse customer credit applications
3. Manage daily processes across department, overseeing department activity
4. Evaluate and set credit limits and terms for customers based on credit history and financial stability in accordance with our policies
5. Manage write-offs, bad debt provisions and setting up of payment plans
6. Review and report on aged debtors and other performance to Senior Management
7. Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable
8. Ad hoc admin duties
9. Communicate effectively with customers to resolve payment issues
10. Supporting team and other departments with complex query resolutions
11. Managing and motivating the team to achieve their performance targets and potential
To be considered for this role we are looking for candidates with the following
12. At least 3 years proven experience of managing a credit control team
13. Possess strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
14. IT skills - proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
15. Experience using accounting software packages
16. Demonstrate experience in leading successful cash collection activity
17. Clear understanding of business dynamics, processes and credit risk
18. Comfortable with numerical data and proficient in problem solving
In return, the successful candidate will receive the following:
£34,000 - £38,000 base salary
