On completion of the Breast examination and client communication course you will be expected to autonomously carry out physical breast examination to aid in our Two Week Wait GP referral clinics and Follow-up clinics. You will be expected to triage and see ward referrals and assess accordingly, requesting imaging/investigations/prescribing medication. Following training you will have the ability to request appropriate breast imaging within the clinical operating procedure. The role will involve giving patients benign biopsy and imaging results, as face to face or telephone results. To be part of our ACP-led post-operative reconstruction clinic, involving simple and complex wound management and dressings, as well as infiltration of tissue expanders. To be part of our ACP-led pain clinic, involving clinical examination and working closely with our physiotherapy team When competent undertake clinical core biopsies and punch biopsies as required. Attend and contribute to Multidisciplinary team meetings, including presenting patients. Complete VTEs and discharge letters for breast surgery patients. Following a consent course, you will be expected to consent patients for genetic/research studies.
