I am a 76-year-old gentleman that lives in my own home with my wife. I had a stroke 8 years ago which left me with a left side paralysis. I require personal assistants to help me maintain my current levels of fitness and the role is a combination of personal care and support to improve my independence. I follow a physio regime and support in maintaining this regime is a key part of the role. I can walk short distances using a quad stick but usually rely on a wheelchair. Support to follow my interests is also important which is mainly gardening.
