Job Opportunity: Business Continuity Planner & Resilience Advisor
Location: Cumbria, on-site 2 days per week
Rate: £400 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract Length: 12 months
Our client who is responsible for the safe management, disposal, and long-term storage of nuclear waste, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Continuity Planner & Resilience Advisor. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the security and resilience of critical business operations in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Expert Guidance: Provide expert advice and support to ensure enterprise resilience and business continuity, aligning with HMG requirements and industry best practices.
* Incident Response: Support the incident response function for operations outside of the Nuclear Licensed Site, ensuring business priorities are upheld during incidents.
* Plan Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain business continuity plans, business impact analyses, disaster recovery plans, and associated documentation.
* Risk Management: Offer guidance to functional teams on risks related to information, facilities, reputation, and other critical business assets.
* Resilience Exercises: Contribute to the planning and execution of resilience exercises, enhancing the organisation's preparedness and response capabilities.
* Continuous Improvement: Assist in the implementation of lessons learned from exercises to strengthen resilience planning and ensure continual development.
* Essential Qualifications and Experience:
o Professional Qualification: Hold a relevant qualification in Resilience, Business Continuity, Risk Management, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience.
o Programme Development: Proven experience in developing Business Continuity programmes aligned with ISO22301 or resilience programmes aligned with ISO22316 within a corporate or regulated environment.
o Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to identify and engage key stakeholders, fostering strong relationships to achieve business objectives.
o Performance Monitoring: Experience in supporting inspections, audits, and reviews of business continuity and resilience programmes, with a focus on continuous improvement.
o Best Practice Implementation: Strong understanding of enterprise resilience and business continuity best practices.
o Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with standards, frameworks, and best practices in Enterprise Resilience, Business Continuity, and Emergency Management, particularly within civil nuclear or Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) sectors.
o Project Management: Competent in project management techniques, with experience supporting high-profile projects and programmes.
o Technical Writing: Skilled in writing procedures, drafting reports, and providing clear guidance to staff.
o Communication Skills: Adept at delivering briefings and training sessions to staff and suppliers at all organisational levels.
