Client: My client is a Tier 1 M&E contractor specializing in several sectors: Pharmaceutical, Commercial, Data Centre, and Petrochemical. The business has seen significant growth in the last 5 years. With a traditional engineering mindset and reinvestment into new principles, the business expects the next two years to be a similar period of growth. After a successful year, they now sit at an international turnover of over £300m. In the UK, they have just been appointed on a £130m electrical-only value Data Centre in C. London, a £90m M&E value commercial job in C. London, and a £45 million scheme in Surrey on a Pharmaceutical scheme.
Electrical Construction Manager - £70,000 - £85,000 + Car Allowance + Travel + Healthcare + Pension
Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the electrical package on a major pharmaceutical/laboratory development in Bagshot/Surrey. The MEP package is worth over £40 million.
Role/Responsibilities:
1. Design Review (scope gaps / clashes)
2. Short term programming
3. Health & Safety (RAMS)
4. Technical Submissions
5. Preparation/issuing all RFI
6. Sub-contractor coordination
7. Management of commissioning stages
8. Liaising with client team, main contractor, and sub-contractors
9. Progress meetings with sub-contractors, professional teams, and client
The ideal candidate:
1. Progressed from a tools background and has good technical knowledge of mechanical/Electrical services
2. Experience working in the commercial sector
3. Experience managing projects to a minimum of £2M within your own discipline
4. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a management role
5. Ideally, the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Sir Robert McAlpine, ISG, Mace, Wates, etc.
