You'll be supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy and behaviours of distress across a variety of settings, including supported living homes and outreach services. Every day is different, and you'll have the chance to make a real impact on the lives of the people we support.
Who Will You Be Supporting?
You will work across multiple settings, supporting individuals with varying levels of independence. The people we support enjoy:
- Social Activities - Going out for meals, cinema trips, concerts, and shopping
- Sports & Exercise - Swimming, football, gym sessions, and walking
- Creative Hobbies - Music, dance, arts & crafts, and gaming
- Sensory Stimulation - Light-up toys, yoga balls, and tactile experiences
Your role will involve encouraging and empowering individuals to take part in activities they enjoy while ensuring they feel safe and supported.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Providing Person-Centred Care - Tailored support to meet individual needs, including personal care and medication administration
- Encouraging Independence - Helping individuals build confidence in daily tasks such as meal preparation, shopping, and household responsibilities
- Managing Behaviours of Distress - Offering emotional reassurance, using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) techniques (full training provided)
- Community Involvement - Assisting with social activities, day trips, and developing meaningful routines
- Supporting Complex Needs - Including individuals who require hoisting, PEG feeding, and mobility assistance
Shift Patterns
- Early: 7:00am - 2:30pm
- Late: 2:30pm - 10:00pm
- Long Days: 7:00am - 10:00pm
- Sleep-Ins: 10:30pm - 7:00am (Paid To Sleep)
- Waking Nights: 10:00pm - 7:00am
