2 High Street, Perth
As a Caretaker you will assist in the provision of an efficient and effective caretaking/portering service for the Council’s properties at High St, Pullar House and Carpenter House, Perth, and at any other Council properties as required.
This role operates on a shift pattern basis. The contracted shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday 36hrs, with occasional weekend working available.
You will carry out a range of services including a portering service within the properties in respect of the movement of furniture/equipment and delivery of goods/equipment.
You will be responsible for the opening and closing of properties, and carrying out security checks as required.
You will identify repairs/maintenance works required and liaise with the appropriate officers.
Undertaking visual fire safety checks, and reporting any hazard to health and safety within the properties.
You will have the opportunity to participate in on the job training and your continuous development will be encouraged and supported throughout your career with Perth & Kinross Council.
Skills & Experience Required
You will be able to carry out the physical demands of the job, and ideally have previous caretaking/handyperson experience or other technical skills.
You should have the ability to communicate well, and work as part of a small team.
Ideally, you should be a qualified first aider, or be willing to undertake training.
You will be able to work a shift pattern on a rotational basis.
