Location: Hybrid home/office with access to our Nottingham office a minimum of twice per week
Job Overview:
The Supply Planner is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient planning of product supply across the business. This role involves developing both short and medium-term plans to balance inventory levels, production schedules, and supplier management, ultimately meeting customer demand while optimising costs, resources, and working capital. The role also focuses on improving supply planning processes and tools, driving efficiency across assigned areas.
Main Purpose of the Role:
- Develop both short and medium-term plans for items for agreed production lines.
- Define appropriate inventory levels and associated required capacity to optimise service, working capital, and costs.
- Identify ways to improve supply planning processes and tools for assigned areas.
- Ownership of supply Masterdata and Supply planning tool: FuturMaster Supply
- Ensure a commercial focus in all planning decisions, balancing cost-effectiveness with service levels to maximise business value.
Main Accountabilities:
- Develop inventory plans by utilising current demand inputs and collaborating with manufacturing, demand planning, commercial partners, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure inventory is managed according to constraints and meets internal targets aligned with the business strategy.
- Collaborate on capacity plans, production schedules, and/or finite schedules to ensure the efficient delivery of inventory, service, and cost objectives.
- Monitor and track inventory levels, service levels, surplus/obsolete inventory, and other relevant KPIs to identify variance from goals. Use all available resources to analyse root causes and recommend possible actions to improve KPI results.
- Analyse and initiate changes to supply chain master data elements impacting the supply plan, such as safety stock settings, lead times, network sourcing, etc., while considering the commercial impact of these changes.
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to provide regular updates on inventory projections. Lead weekly supply review meetings to discuss supply shortages and recommend mitigation strategies. Escalate to leadership any issues that arise.
- Coordinate with demand planning, sales, transportation, operations teams to address any changes to supply plan and solve any shortage scenarios that occur.
- Regularly review "Non-Nettable" inventory and ensure necessary rework is built back into plans to enable maximum availability of stock.
- Initiate and lead process improvement projects to drive better efficiencies and yield improvement in KPIs.
- Execute new item product launches and/or discontinuations to meet customer expectations.
- Develop capacity assessments to support supply chain reviews and decisions.
- Play a key role in the S&OP process with materials required for the S&OP Supply review.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain supply plans based on sales forecasts, production constraints, and lead times.
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust plans to minimise stockouts and excess stock.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (procurement, sales, production, and logistics) to ensure alignment on supply priorities, with a strong focus on commercial outcomes.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Analyse demand changes and adjust supply plans accordingly.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to optimise supply chain processes, reduce costs, and improve commercial outcomes.
- Lead supply planning meetings and report on key metrics (inventory levels, service levels, forecast accuracy).
- Ownership of key assumptions on supply/demand drivers, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives.
