The Sake Sommelier Association (SSA) is a global partnership of talented educators providing and accrediting sake education courses and working toward benefitting the world of sake. The SSA is the oldest, non-Japanese, organisation offering sake education, and is aimed at providing sake knowledge to a global market. Widely regarded as ‘The’ international authority for sake education, we strive to promote global education, awareness, and appreciation of Japanese sake whilst simultaneously increasing opportunities for students to learn the rich cultural history of sake. Position Details:
* Working directly under and assisting the Head of Education, helping to manage preparation & presentation of the SSA's courses.
* Organising updates on our courses internationally and checking in with various students on our longer-term courses.
* The role will require you to be available on some weekends to assist and support the Education Department, with an aim of moving forward to providing training yourself and developing our international network.
* Further opportunities to advance and be a part of other SSA events, like the Sake Sommelier of the Year or one of our regional Sake Challenges.
Applicant Attributes
* A background in restaurant/hotel - particularly as a Sommelier/Head Waiter; or in drinks retail/trading. An interest or professional experience in sake.
* Passionate and motivated with all educational matters.
* Strong communication skills and experience with writing professionally.
* Seasoned presenting skills. Enthusiastic about communicating with audiences worldwide.
* A strong command of English is essential (spoken & written).
* Comfortable working in a small, tight-knit team. Great time management, particularly for the courses & events.
* Interest in Japanese culture is a benefit (no requirement to speak Japanese).

Pay: £12.00 per hour
