The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager, playing a key role in maintaining the charity’s financial systems. Job Purpose:
The Finance Department plays a crucial role in supporting the organisation by ensuring smooth financial operations and compliance with legal and statutory requirements. It also safeguards the company’s assets and cash by maintaining strong financial controls and implementing effective budget models.
The Finance Assistant key roles are:
1. Ensuring the Charity’s financial systems are operating effectively, and that proper financial records, procedures and controls are maintained for income recognition.
2. Recording all income.
3. Creating sales invoices when required.
4. Credit control.
5. Reconciling the main bank account.
6. Recording all purchase invoices through to approval and payment.
7. Reconciling Purchase Ledger with monthly statements.
8. Preparing and processing monthly payment run.
9. Maintaining the Fixed Asset Registers ensuring these are up to date and reconciled.
10. Providing ad hoc support to Finance Manager.
Essential Requirements:
1. Proficiency in IT systems, including Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
2. Previous experience in a Finance Department.
3. Confidence in working with spreadsheets and accounting software.
4. Ability to follow a structured timetable and meet deadlines.
5. Strong communication skills.
