About Major Programmes And Projects (MPP) Role Within DIO
With a team of over 500 people, we are the capital infrastructure delivery arm of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation and are accountable and responsible for the delivery of capital infrastructure projects across the whole of Defence.
Our diverse portfolio includes major programmes over £1 billion, a considerable number of high profile, complex projects, as well as traditional projects within military bases and establishments in the UK and overseas. From runways to range refurbishments, and from jetties to accommodation for US Forces, our reach is unique, and no two days are the same.
Our Directorate, led at 2* SCS level, comprises six 1* delivery areas covering Army, NADES (Navy, Air, DE&S), USVF (US Visiting Forces), UK Strategic Command, Nuclear Infrastructure and Portfolio Office.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job Description
Working at the heart of a high profile infrastructure delivery team, this post sits within our fast paced MPP Army Programme Management Office (PMO). The role of the Business & Communications Manager is to manage the delivery of a full range of business operation services to support the effective working of all staff within the MPP Army delivery area. We are looking for an individual with exceptional communication skills, who can lead the delivery of a quality service supporting the G7 Business Manager. With a passion for managing and embedding change you will drive digitalisation of our services to enable improved business outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity requiring a strong focus on communication and information management, leading MPP Army communications both online and at events, ensuring information is handled in line with MOD policy. You will have experience of leading a team, supporting their development, and fostering good relationships with them and the wider team. With an eye for detail, you will oversee the collation of business reports, tracking spend against budget and ensuring data is accurate, maximising the use of digitalised tools to reduce manual data entry.
We are currently operating a Hybrid working model with an expectation of at least 60% of your working time to be spent in the office or on a project site.

Essential
* Practical application of Office 365 tools
* Experience of managing and embedding change
Desirable
* Experience in a Business Management role
* Experience of business and delivery planning
* Experience of finance and resource management
Technical Competences
Competent in the use of Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, One-Note, Word, PowerPoint, Sway and Power BI.
Qualifications & Professional Memberships
Desirable
* Change Management Practitioner
* Membership of Chartered Management Institute or equivalent professional body (CIPD)
Licences
UK driving licence desirable some travel to other sites

Salary and Benefits
Alongside your salary of £44,590, Ministry of Defence contributes £12,917 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
