Job Title: Electrical Component Engineer
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Salary: up to £41,000
Hours: Monday to Friday - 0800 to 1630

About the Role:
As an Electrical Component Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in defining, maintaining, and improving the quality and performance of components used in our operations. Reporting directly to management, you will collaborate with procurement, quality assurance and operational teams to ensure every component meets technical specifications and supports the organisation's goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Define and set up new component master data and integrate it into the system.
2. Analyse customer information, manufacturing BOMs and operational processes to define components for NPI products.
3. Maintain and update material master data and BOMs, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
4. Support the procurement team by defining technical parameters and validating samples.
5. Manage engineering change notifications and track component life cycles (EOL, LTB).
6. Provide technical support for purchasing, planning, and cost-saving initiatives.
7. Analyse technical specifications and datasheets, suggesting alternative components and solutions where appropriate.
8. Collaborate with QA to establish incoming inspection rules and support non-conformance analysis.
9. Create palletization instructions and provide technical assistance across departments.
About You:
You're a hands-on, innovative engineer with a passion for problem-solving and a strong background in engineering principles. Detail-oriented and collaborative, you thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel at optimizing processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Strong experience and expertise with SAP.
2. High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including macros and pivot tables.
3. Degree or diploma in an engineering field.
4. At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering.
5. Solid background in process improvement, defect analysis and root-cause investigation.
