Band 3 - Ward Medicines Assistant, Pharmacy

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant to join our clinical pharmacy team as a Ward Medicines Assistant on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
You must have either successfully achieved the relevant units of pharmacy services skills NVQ level 2 (QCF) or the relevant units of a GPhC accredited training programme of equivalent level to pharmacy service skills NVQ level 2 (QCF).
Main duties of the job
To contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive ward pharmacy service.
Undertaking activities predominantly at ward level, but also within the pharmacy department, which contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of medicines to patients e.g. transfer of medicines, medicines supply, dispensing medication and the safe/secure storage of medicines.

Person Specification
Education and qualifications:
* NVQ 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
* GCSEs in Maths, English and Science grade C or above (or equivalent qualification).
Knowledge:
* Aware of Trust goals and objectives and how this may influence the process of supply of medicines.
* Understanding of the need of confidentiality.
* Knowledge and understanding of hospital pharmacy services.
* Knowledge of hospital environment.
* Knowledge of GDP regulations.
* Knowledge of the EMIS pharmacy system.
Experience:
* Experience of working with patients.
* Working as part of a team.
* Experience of working in a pharmacy.
* Hospital Pharmacy experience.
* Experience of working with a Dispensing Robot.
