Contract Scotland are working with a Fife-based housing contractor to source a Land Manager. You will be joining a business that has over 30 years of experience building quality homes in the private and affordable sector.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will be primarily focused on acquiring land to meet the company’s targets for private and affordable housing. You will develop and maintain effective relationships with agents, landowners, and property professionals in order to maximize opportunities.
Key Requirements of the Role
* Sourcing of land through a variety of means.
* Creating and maintaining strong relationships with land agents, landowners, and other stakeholders.
* Maximizing the potential to source land and ensure the Company is fully up to date with market updates.
* Reviewing all land opportunities and assessing to establish sites that the business wishes to pursue.
* Carrying out Market Research, including competitor analysis and a detailed overview of the second-hand market.
* Obtaining existing site records relating to services, adoptable highways, drainage, and coordination of land registry/ownership inquiries.
* Engaging in early dialogue with solicitors to obtain an overview of sites' legal constraints.
* Conducting headline appraisals for sites utilizing COINS land appraisal software.
* Managing external consultants and the flow of information to agreed timescales.
* Attending Design Team meetings in conjunction with colleagues and external consultants.
* Liaising with Planning Department representatives through the planning process.
* Managing the discharge of pre-commencement planning conditions.
* Keeping up to date with planning policy and Local Plan cycles.
* Attending public consultation events and planning meetings.
You will need:
* Demonstrable land manager experience (min 2 years).
* The ability to demonstrate effective negotiating and influencing skills to optimize successful results.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively liaise with both internal and external teams.
* Report writing skills, computer literacy (MS Office), and an eye for detail.
* Full UK Driver’s License.
