About the employer
The Employer had a stroke a few years ago which has impacted his speech. He suffers seizures but these are rare and are under control. He lives with his wife in his own home in Corby.
A personal assistant is sought to support him to access the community and to enjoy his leisure time. The ability to play snooker is essential as this is one of his main interests!
In the future he may want to play darts, go for a walk, go bowling or even to go the gym. So, someone who can aide and encourage him to explore and expand his leisure opportunities would be ideal.
Main Duties
• To accompany the Employer to the local Snooker Club (St James Park in Corby) for a game of snooker. A car owner/driver with business car insurance is therefore essential.
• In the future this may change to a different leisure activity based on the Employer’s wishes.
• Any other task which the employer may reasonably ask you to do which falls within the scope of the job as a Personal Assistant.
Additional employment information
The successful applicant will be friendly, able to give empathetic support, while respecting the employer’s independence but also able to take instruction.
A can-do attitude is needed, as well as a willingness to help the employer explore new activities, joining in when appropriate.
Must be flexible, trustworthy and active with a good sense of humour.
