Employee working groups The role We are currently recruiting a Architect to join our Billericay office. The role will involve providing architectural design services and project management across a broad spectrum of services provided by the Practice. Please Note: This role may be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service, Baseline Personnel Security Standard, Counter Terrorist Check, Security Check, or Developed Vetting clearance. The selected candidate will… Accept instructions from clients to understand their requirements and develop their briefs. Run projects from inception to completion ranging in value from £300k to £10m. Act as Lead Consultant on a wide range of projects. Advise on the requirement for other consultants as required. Chair regular design team meetings and prepare and issue minutes. Produce site appraisals and feasibility reports for clients. Prepare any necessary building regulation, planning applications, Listed Building applications and monitor and deal with as necessary by liaising with authorities. Prepare detail designs for competitive tender including production of working drawings and plans. Undertake tendering process and post tender analysis, including production of tender report to client and potential value engineering exercise and make recommendations to client. Act as Project Manager/ Contract Administrator on projects by attending site for Pre-Start and Project Meetings. To understand and clearly define clients’ expectations to provide advice, keep them informed of progress on projects and make them aware of technical and financial implications. Assist the Director Architect team leader to continually improve team profitability by managing time and resources allocated to projects and by ensuring that time spent on projects is recorded and that fee invoicing is carried out at appropriate stages. Liaise and work with other disciplines as part of a multi-disciplinary team ensuring all works are completed in a collaborative manner and communicate well with all technical and non-technical staff. Work with the other technical staff on the team for production of Planning through to Building Regulations drawings AutoCAD/Revit, make applications, answer, and resolve queries with building control departments or consultancies. Liaise with sub-contractors, specialist suppliers and other contractors as appropriate, including checking of drawings. Where instructed, take responsibility for day-to-day job running of specific projects under the supervision of the team leader. Provide direction and feedback on team and individual objectives. Essential skills, experience, and attributes… Part III RIBA qualified Experience of working on Education, Public Sector, Residential, Social Housing and, Healthcare experience desirable but not essential Advanced use of REVIT software Desirable BIM experience Thorough understanding of the Building Regulations. Ability to produce specifications using the NBS Software.
