We are currently recruiting for a Inspector to join our Light Turbines team in Dyce, Aberdeen. The purpose of the position is to perform the full range of Inspector duties and services for Ethos Energy, Light Turbines. Job Responsibilities Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities Detailed examination of gas turbine components, modules and assemblies using standard and complex measurement tools and equipment. Ensure that all components and/or modules are acceptable for final assembly. Record component and/or module condition in accordance with approved company inspection criteria Select appropriate disposition options to ensure that the component/module is either repaired or replaced in accordance with production requirements and engineering standards. Participate in the development of inspection criteria, inspection paperwork, repair criteria and repair specifications as and when required in conjunction with Engineering. Raise Improvement Requests (IR) upon internal employees and external vendors as and when required when goods and/or services do not conform to specified standards. At all times, think and act to control the quality of workmanship and materials used in support of company products. Maintain Inspection discipline, housekeeping and Health and Safety standards. Duty of care in all HSE and Quality procedures. Develop effective internal working relations within the Operations Group, as well as relations with Field Service, Parts/Proposals and all internal support functions in order to meet customer requirements and support the overall inspection process. Provide support and assistance to the Inspection Team Leader where required. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills required Help to develop/review/improve inspection related work processes Understanding and use of MPR systems such as Visaer or SAP NDT methods and techniques Required Skills / Knowledge Product knowledge/technical understanding with gas turbine principle and overhaul programmes e.g. Siemens Energy or other rotating equipment. Modern apprentice qualified in a mechanical discipline, which requires the following qualifications: SVQ Levels 2 and 3 or City & Guilds equivalent; and National Certificate. Use of measuring equipment techniques. (metric and imperial) Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical, technical drawings and repair schemes. NDT qualifications to BINDT Level Focussed attention to detail. Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Numerical, literacy and administration skills. Ability to interpret data and process it in a methodological manner. Flexible, self-motivated and high levels of initiative – ability to handle multiple tasks. Candidates should be prepared to work as part independently on their own initiative and as part of a team involved in a culture of continuous improvement.
