We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Interface Engineer to join our team at Northern Powergrid, where you will play a key role in supporting major customers connecting to our electricity distribution network.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the technical process for connection applications to the GB electricity networks and be able to work effectively across the electricity system to secure access rights on the transmission system.
You will be responsible for preparing and submitting high-quality applications for transmission access, collaborating with colleagues and applying scrutiny to deliver exceptional outputs to the Electricity System Operator (ESO).
In this role, you will also interface with major connections design processes, acting as a bridge between customers, internal distribution connections functions, and the ESO, ensuring that distribution customer needs are being addressed.
To succeed in this position, you will need to have excellent analytical and data-driven skills, with the ability to develop reports and visualisations. A strong understanding of legal frameworks and contract law is also essential.
As an experienced engineer, you will bring a high level of technical authority to the role, using your knowledge of electricity networks planning to support customers to meet their energy goals and ensure the system is efficiently developed.

**Requirements:**
* HNC Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
* Full UK driving licence
