Job Title: Trainee Technician
Job Overview: We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Technician to join our Liverpool branch to help service our customers in and around Preston, Wigan, and occasionally Liverpool. This is a permanent, full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8am-4.30pm.
Salary: Basic salary of £24,575 with approx OTE of £30,000 + company van + fuel card.
Responsibilities:
As a Technician, you’ll be servicing our customers across Wigan, Preston, and occasionally Liverpool in a company van. You need a UK driving licence to become one of our Technicians. Travel further afield may also be required, subject to workload.
1. Strip and replace timber floors, door frames, architraves, windows, and doors.
2. Hack-off plaster prior to installing damp proof courses or install cavity drainage membrane.
3. Carry out timber treatments such as woodworm sprays and fungal decay work.
4. Specialist technicians also carry out basement waterproofing work and structural defects repairs, such as wall tie installation and crack-stitching.
5. Minimal working away from home as required by business needs.
Requirements:
We would love you to have:
1. An apprenticeship background, City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications would be advantageous.
2. Experience working as a Joiner, Carpenter, or a Preservation Technician preferred.
3. Full UK Manual Driving Licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 penalty points.
4. A can-do attitude, and able to use your own initiative in tricky situations.
5. Great communication and customer service skills with a keen, enthusiastic, and friendly approach.
